Deputy Practice Manager

Manor Brook Medical Centre is a well-established GP practice serving approximately 12,500 patients, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. As a training practice, it actively supports the development of GP registrars, medical students, and student nurses. The multi-disciplinary team includes GPs, nurses, pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists, mental health professionals, social prescribers, and care coordinators. The practice works closely with three other practices within its Primary Care Network (PCN), embracing innovation and collaborative working across the network.

Working closely with the Practice Manager and GP Partners, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of the practice. They will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of patient care while leading and supporting the dedicated administrative and support teams.

Key Responsibilities
· Assist the Practice Manager with the daily operational management of the practice.
· Support financial processes including payroll, invoicing and budget monitoring.
· Contribute to HR processes and staff management.
· Oversee facilities management.
· Help maintain compliance with CQC, NHS and other statutory and contractual obligations.
· Support patient engagement, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
· Help prepare for inspections and maintain robust policies and procedures.
· Deputise for the Practice Manager when required, with a view to full transition into the Practice Manager role.

The ideal candidate will bring energy, resilience, and a proactive approach to practice management. They will ideally have:
· Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
· Experience in general practice or healthcare management (preferred).
· Understanding of primary care standards and compliance (preferred).
· Confidence using IT systems (EMIS or similar experience desirable)
· A collaborative, patient-focused mind-set.
· A genuine desire to progress into a Practice Manager role.
