Medical Secretary/Receptionist

Dr Mostafa PMS

Dr Mostafa PMS is a long-established friendly surgery based in Plumstead, with a branch site located in Abbey Wood, providing primary care services to approximately 7,300 patients.

 

A 2 GP Partner practice, they are supported by a clinical team consisting of GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Senior Practice Nurse and an Associate Practitioner. There is also excellent support from a highly skilled and friendly administrative team. The Partners are forward-thinking and focused on providing a supportive and rewarding workplace, with a ‘no blame culture’. The health and wellbeing of both their patients and staff is always a main priority, as they continue to look at ways of improving both the patient care provided and staff wellbeing. The practice is committed to the training and development of all staff.

 

They are currently recruiting for a Medical Secretary with Reception skills, to manage their referrals, electronic document flow and provide one day of Reception cover a week. Working 33.5 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm (Admin) and Wednesday only 8.00am - 6.30pm (Reception) at their main Plumstead High Street surgery, with the possible need to work at their Wickham Lane Branch surgery as required. The starting salary is £11.60 per hour and will be reviewed on successful completion of probationary period. The successful candidate will require a good knowledge of the EMIS clinical system, Docman and the eRS and DXS Referral systems. They will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including a good knowledge of medical terminology, as important information will need to be accurately communicated to patients, clinicians and service providers. Applicants must be well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure actions are performed in a safe and timely manner. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.

Everest Health Partnership

The Everest Health Partnership is a busy and evolving practice operating across three sites - two located in Eltham and one in the Kidbrooke Village development near Blackheath.

With a varied demographic of 18,000 patients, which is expected to increase over the next 3-5 years as the new developments in Kidbrooke complete, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible, and reliable Salaried GP to join this established training practice and enhance their existing experienced multidisciplinary clinical team of 5 Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 3 GP Registrars, an Advanced Care Practitioner, 4 Nurses, 3 Pharmacists and 2 dedicated Prescribing Clerks. A highly organised practice, the Everest Health Partnership has both well-staffed clinical and clerical teams, who meet regularly to provide support and best practice.

 

Offering 4-6 sessions per week, working Friday with some flexibility of other working days and session timings, the successful candidate will undertake a mix of e-Consults, telephone calls and face to face appointments as part of their working day, as well as having a key role in the development of the surgery within the local area. Experience of working in South East London and with trainees and medical students is desirable. A salary of £11,250 per session is being offered as well as payment of indemnity insurance. Vanbrugh Group Practice

Vanbrugh Group Practice is a large well-established 18,500 patient training practice located in the purpose-built Greenwich Centre in Lambarde Square. A friendly and supportive practice, the clinical team is comprised of 4 GP Partners, 9 Salaried GPs and a 6-member nursing team.

 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Receptionist to join their friendly and welcoming team. A helpful and reliable team player the successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient front-line reception service to all patients and visitors to the practice. Excellent customer service, communication and IT skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is also a requirement, as the post holder will be asked to provide sickness and annual leave cover for colleagues, where necessary.

 

The role will include meeting/greeting and signposting patients to the appropriate services, booking appointments, answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries, as well as providing administrative/clerical support to the clinical and management teams where necessary. Previous experience of working in a GP surgery or similar setting, and use of the EMIS clinical system is preferred. This position is currently being offered at 28 hours per week at a rate of £12.92 per hour. Based on experience, negotiation of hours would be considered.

Glyndon Medical Centre is a well-established PMS practice operating over two sites in Woolwich and Plumstead, with a list size of 7,000+ patients.

 

A 2 Partner practice, they are a friendly bunch whose multidisciplinary team comprises a Salaried GP, 2 Practices Nurses, Clinical Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Social Prescriber, Mental Health Nurse and Podiatrist, who are very well supported by an experienced administrative team. They form part of Greenwich’s Unity PCN working collaboratively with colleagues from All Saints Medical Centre, Mostafa PMS and Plumstead Health Centre.

 

They are looking to recruit a Salaried GP into their workforce with immediate effect and are offering 4-6 sessions per week, with a competitive salary of between £10,000 - £11,000 per session, 6 weeks annual leave and 1 week’s study leave pro rata per year. They use EMIS Web, Docman and the eConsult digital triage and online consultation platform. A friendly, well-established practice located in Plumstead, South East London, Plumstead Health Centre offers a supportive environment with an ethos to provide a high standard of patient care.

 

They are looking to recruit a Salaried GP for 6-8 sessions per week to complement their existing clinical team, which is comprised of 4 GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Community Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, MSK Specialist, Practice Nurses, Mental Health Nurse, Social Prescriber, Dietician, Nurse Associate and Physician Associate. 

 

Main duties of the role

As a Salaried GP, the successful candidate will manage their own caseload. Dealing with a wide variety of health needs in a primary care setting, they will work individually and as part of a team to ensure a high standard of care for all registered patients is met, as they carry out the associated clinical and administrative duties.
