The Greenwich Health team is lead by our 3 directors and comprises the most passionate people working in primary care. With a focus always on the patient, our team is working every day to improve primary care for the residents of Greenwich.

NIRAJ PATEL

Director & Chair

Dr Niraj Patel  is a GP Partner at Thamesmead Medical Associates in Greenwich. He has worked in General Practice in Greenwich for 14 years and is also a Co-Author of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Handbook of Practice Management.

 

He is a GP member of The Healthier Greenwich Partnership and GP member of the South East London Primary Care Leadership Group and Greenwich Local Medical Committee Member. 

​

He passed the MRCGP with distinction and has a Masters in Healthcare Commissioning  from the Health Service Management Centre in Birmingham, passing with merit. 

 

His previous roles include: Practice Based Commissioning Chair for NHS Greenwich, Vice-Chair of Greenwich Clinical Commissioning Group, Executive Member of the National Association of Primary Care, Standing Member of the Quality Standards Advisory Committee (QSAC)  – National Institute For Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE), GP Clinical Adviser to the Department of Health Strategy, Finance & NHS Directorate and Visiting Fellow in Health Policy at the Nuffield Trust.

SHIKHA SINGH

Director

Dr Shikha Singh is a GP partner at Manor Brook Medical Centre in Greenwich. Having completed her undergraduate medical education at Imperial College London and her post-graaduate GP training in North East London, Dr Singh has been practicing as a GP in Greenwich since 2012. In addition to her partnership role, Dr Singh is an NHS England South London Appraiser and a GP trainer on the Greenwich GP VTS scheme and prior to this, was a GP supervisor for medical undergraduates from Kings' College London. She has been a Greenwich LMC representative since 2018, representing Greenwich at the 2021 National Conference of LMCs and is also a Royal College of General Practitioners mentor. 

 

Dr Singh has further developed leadership and management skills, having undertaken executive coaching in 2023 and coaching via the Faculty of Medical Coaches prior to that. Dr Singh is firmly committed to improving the sustainability of primary care in the borough and supporting the recruitment and retention of primary care workforce, a focus she is able to enhance and support further through her educational and appraisal roles.

REBECCA MOORE

Director

Dr Rebecca Moore is a GP Partner at the Vanbrugh Group Practice, a large training practice with a list size of 18500 patients, located in west Greenwich. Since qualifying from Cambridge/King’s College London she has worked and trained through placements locally through Lewisham & Greenwich Trust as a junior doctor and has worked as a GP in Greenwich since qualifying in 2011. 

 

Dr Moore is a GP trainer with a keen interest in educational development and has previously held the role of Quality lead and Named GP for Adult Safeguarding, Greenwich CCG. She continues the role of Named GP, Safeguarding Children within the locality and as an elected LMC member since 2018. Both roles have involved representing the borough at pan-London and national events along with involvement in the negotiations of strategic direction/training provision and ensuring developments and changes are effectively communicated to member practices. Specific to safeguarding, this role has involved assessing/monitoring governances structures associated with newly commission services.

DAVID JAMES

Chief Executive Officer

David James is an experienced and proven CEO with a strong track record in leading high performing organisations.  He has over a decade of senior leadership experience within the NHS, providing strategic, financial, and operational expertise across multiple levels of primary care and federated working. 

 

A graduate of Portsmouth University in 2002 with a BSc in Business & IT, he has utilised these skills in various roles giving him a broad understanding of multiple organisational functions.  He went on to undertake the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson programme at the NHS Leadership Academy, and achieved a MSc in Healthcare leadership from the University of Birmingham in 2018.

ROBERT SWEENEY

Chief Operating Officer

Robert Sweeney has worked in a range of healthcare settings in both NHS and private sectors. His experience covers both health and beauty sectors also and he has carried out a range of roles including practice manager of a GP practice and General Manager of a private health and beauty centre. Robert was part of the team who supported the formation of Greenwich Health and has developed experience in the development and growth of healthcare organisations.

 

Robert is also an NHS Digital Pioneer Fellow with Digital Health London and has continued his association with Digital Health London through presenting at various of their events and being on the interview panels for their excellent digital accelerator programmes.

 

As well as his role with Greenwich Health, Robert also currently provides business management and advisory support for two of Greenwich’s Primary Care Networks. 

 

Robert holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management, a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing, and an Executive MBA from Hult University.
